Take a look, it's on display for you

A twenty-something in Manila who spends most of my waking hours inside my headphones. Small bits of heaven for me are found being by the ocean, good friends, laughter, food, when I'm out taking pictures, and seeing new places.

This is an amazing version of Heart It Races. When I started exploring the world of indie music 3 years ago, this is one of the first songs that really got me hooked.

The world looks more or less the same anywhere you go. It’s the cast of characters you meet that shapes your story.

It has been a long, rough, and busy week- but finally, finally it is Friday. I wanted to send my love and wish you all the very best. Enjoy the spring weather, hug a loved one, and treat yourself to something special. Make this weekend count. Remember that you are beautiful and you are loved.
I’m not a foodie, I just like what I like,” she says. “Yes, I know, it’s just like hipsters saying, ‘I’m not a hipster.’ ” (The cliché cracks her up.) “But it’s like when my boss says, ‘Oh, you’re such a foodie.’ I’m like, Oh God. When I hear the word foodie, I think of Yelp. I don’t want to be lumped in with Yelp.
Lonely is a freedom that breathes easy and weightless and lonely is healing if you make it.

Metronomy,
The English Riviera

Metronomy’s “English Riviera” album has been on repeat, especially this song which has been my favorite choice for first tune in the morning.

How awesome is this song? How awesome is J. Viewz? Sigh.

Everything Goes My Way - Metronomy

Thanks to my dearest bestie Chiara for introducing me to them. They have served as the soundtrack to our recent nightcaps, which we need more of together with Vicky.

New discovery: SWTBRDS, instrumental hiphop from SF.

Just realized last year that I had a dormant trip hop bone in my body.

Manila sunset.

Some photos from last night’s Fuerza Bruta experience at the Manila Hotel tent. The show originated from Buenos Aires, and has been running for 6 years on Broadway. I just heard about it when a friend tweeted a month ago about how amazing the music was, which of course intrigued me. After hearing more feedback from friends and watching the trailer, I decided to watch it.

I had no idea what to expect but it was a mind-blowing, super fun experience! The “show” is more like an interactive 60-minute experience (which went by really fast), with visual, sensory treats coming at you from all directions. The actors really engage with the crowd and once I was there I understood why they say no two shows are the same. The performances were well thought out and designed to pleasantly surprise the audience, hold them in awe, get wet, dance, and laugh. Amazing, really.
